Having grown up in Thirroul, north of Wollongong in the Illawarra, it always seemed that Boggabilla and Goondiwindi were so very far away. We had family visits there in 1964 and 1968. Then in 1973 and 2013 I visited there with my husband David. It was always interesting – every time we seemed meet different members of the Adams Family whom I hadn’t met before.
Who am I ? Kerrie Anne Christian (nee Adams) - daughter of Cyril Ross "Tipo" Adams. There have probably been 5 or 6 generations of the Adams family living up around the Macintyre River. Many were in Goondiwindi and Boggabilla - and some still live in Goondiwindi. Some of us live a long way from there - but we still like to know what's happening in the old towns. Dad's family had connections to Waters, Weatherstone, Doughty, Barden, McCosker, Power and Maunder families as well - and up around Walgett and Collarenebri / Collarendabri.
I help out in a few organizations Black Diamond Heritage Centre - and South Coast Chapter of Felleowship of First Fleeters - I am President of both.
