There are other Barden families who emigrated to Australia and one, Levi Barden branch, has been associated with the Cooks River. There had been conjecture that our Barden branch was possibly connected to the Levi Barden family above. DNA testing results have indicated that this is the case, tending to confirm that George Barden, husband of Keziah Butchers, was a brother of Levi Barden. More details on the Cooks River Levi Barden family can be found here. DNA testing has also indicated links with the Benjamin Barden branch – and that Benjamin was a brother of George Barden and Levi Barden. No connections have as yet been confirmed with other Barden families who emigrated to Australia.
